The news broke not in a formal press release but on the EA forums. Maxis teased more assets would be spilling between now and then to delight us.
”There’s been a lot of buzz on when the official release date for Darkspore will be. You’ve heard it here first,” posted Community Manager ‘MaxisCactus’. ”Darkspore will be released in North America on March 29th, 2011 and in Europe on April 1st, 2011.”
What is Darkspore you ask? Well it’s ”a fast-paced, sci-fi Action-RPG in which you battle across alien worlds to save the galaxy from the mutated forces of Darkspore.”
”Collect an arsenal of living weapons - genetic heroes with different combat abilities - and upgrade them with tens of thousands of collectible body parts and armor.” Darkspore also has a PvP arena mode because that’s all the rage now.
