Joining Blockbuster’s $1-a-day movie rental kiosks is Redbox’s $2-a-day game rentals.
Nationwide DVD rental service RedBox has begun renting out new release videogames for all major home consoles. The rental is competitive with other game rental services that charge far more. Keeping the game longer than 15 days charges you the full retail price - which isn’t too bad if you’re doing a “try before you buy” rental.
The Redbox game rentals had been servicing test markets in Austin, Orlando and Reno, and will now include games in their 21,000 DVD rental kiosks.
