Producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama reveal they’ve a much darker tone in mind for sequel Final Fantasy XIII-2, as it loses the ‘pop’.
The sequel covers events that are ‘behind the scenes’ in FFXIII. The story will have its own mysteries and the goddess Etro will be a central figure.
The development team has listened intently to all the feedback the first game received from outside Square Enix and overseas to help make FFXIII-2 better. These involved taking notes for the characters, the overall storyline and the interface.
Changes to the battle system will be revealed later and an easy mode could be included. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is releasing on Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
