Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello confirmed during an investor conference call that
Star Wars: The Old Republic would be profitable at 500,000 subscribers, while 1M subscribers would be
”a business that makes good money on an on-going basis.” Anything over that, and Riccitiello stated that the game would be
”a great investment.”
This was something that Riccitiello stated a year ago, so it’s not exactly news, but in light of the massive pre-orders of The Old Republic in the past few days, it’s more likely to happen.
The key, of course, is keeping those subscribers after a few months.
