Capcom has announced a chewy digital download game based on the Sour Patch Kids snack candy called World Gone Sour, which will be released on PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. The game will put players in the role of a lost piece of candy finding its way to its ultimate destination – the human stomach.
According to the press release, players control a lost Sour Patch Kid trekking through such environments as the sticky floors of a movie theater and the counter of a concession stand, among other oversized set pieces. Players will use a combination of jumps, twists and puzzle-solving to negotiate and overcome larger than life obstacles. Along the way, they will battle unusual candy enemies, escape from deranged humans, and face-off against bizarre creatures including one very angry wad of sticky chewing gum.
The game will feature local co-op play, with the console versions featuring global leaderboards.
World Gone Sour will be released later this year for Xbox Live Arcade (400 Microsoft Points), PlayStation Network, and PC.
