Electronic Arts communication manager Steve Frost stated in an interview with Gamasutra that releasing UEFA as downloadable content instead of an entirely separate game will grow the EA Sports brand, saying, ”We felt this was the best way to extend that experience and deliver fresh new content to our fans.”
The UEFA Euro 2012 DLC will be the exact same game as FIFA 12, with one small but important change: real-life matches and updates based on the real European Football Championship.
EA Sports believes it’ll strengthen the core base that already owns FIFA 12 while attracting new fans who are excited over the UEFA tourney. ”We expect footy fans will want the opportunity to play UEFA Euro 2012 and experience what it takes to win the tournament under the same conditions their favourite nation will face in the weeks ahead,” Frost promised.
FIFA 12 owners who are interest in the UEFA Euro 2012 downloadable content can get it on the 24th April.
