A new console will be released in China on the 29th April. It’s called the CT 510 and it will cost 3,799 yuan, or approximately $600. The console is being released in a market that the Chinese government had banned all videogame consoles. The console was previously known as the eBox, and then the iSec.
The console manufacturer is Beijing Eedoo Technology Ltd. and the system will come with eight pre-installed games, and will feature a Kinect-like sensor for hands-free gaming.
It is unknown whether this is a permanent change in policy from the Chinese government regarding consoles, or just a special one-time agreement. Some have speculated that the console is being called a “family entertainment device” to skirt the law.
Stay tuned.
