One of the oldest MMOs, Runescape, will be finally getting with the modern era as the beta test for The Evolution of Combat update will be beta-tested this coming weekend.
The closed beta will be for 50,000 registered testers, and will add new features to combat and fix some of the exploits. The Evolution of Combat will allow for action bars, dual wielding, situational abilities, critical hits and buffs.
The update also closes some of the exploits that Runescape has suffered, such as players being able to hide their true level from other players, allowing them to seem weaker than they really were and wipe the mat with unsuspecting opponents.
Runescape debuted in 2001 and is now a free-to-play browser-based MMO. Check out it out at its official site here.
