The game will include the three core campaigns along with the new Blackstaff Campaign, four multiplayer modes including a new Coronation Mode, a sandbox mode and 12 historical sieges.
The Blackstaff campaign tells the story of Thomas Blackstaff who is hunting down the three escaped sons of The Rat. The player will travel across the sea to Blackstaff’s former home on Greyshore Island and pit him against the evil Brotherhood, who forced Blackstaff into exile as a youth.
If that weren’t enough, Firefly also has announced that anyone who purchased Stronghold 3 before the 25th May on Steam will have their copy of the game automatically upgraded to Stronghold 3: Gold Edition. Gamers who purchased Stronghold 3 otherwise can purchase the Blackstaff Campaign and the 12 historical sieges as DLC.
Stronghold 3 received poor review scores on launch, including a 4.0/10 score from Strategy Informer’s review. The game has reportedly improved after a series of patches.
