2K Sports has announced that it has negotiated a partnership with USA Basketball to feature the 1992 and 2012 US Olympic men’s basketball teams in NBA 2K13, the former of which was known as “The Dream Team”.
The 1992 team featured Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, David Robinson, Scottie Pippin, Clyde Drexler, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Chris Mullin and Christian Laettner, while the 2012 team includes LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Deron Williams, Kevin Love, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, and Anthony Davis.
Much of the debate during the past two weeks was whether the 2012 team could beat their counterparts from 30 years earlier. NBA 2K13 will give gamers a chance to have the teams play each other virtually and settle matters.
NBA 2K13 is due to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the 5th October, while the Wii U version will be released during the Holiday season.
