Indie developer Stoic has announced that they will be releasing Banner Saga Factions in early November. The game is a free-to-play multiplayer version of The Banner Saga, which the studio earlier this year raised funding through Kickstarter.
According to Arnie Jorgensen in an interview, “Basically we are developing the single-player game, and we realized we are doing all this work on the combat and it’s really fun to play. Why not just release the combat as we develop the full game?”
Factions will be using the same assets and combat from the original game, essentially giving gamers a taste of what to expect from it. The Banner Saga is due to be released on PC in early 2013.
