Moebius is described as a ”metaphysical sci-fi thriller” in which an antiquities dealer named Malachi Rector is looking for strange artifacts from around the world, and compiling dossiers on each. Rector can sense “the soul” of an object.
When Rector’s upscale Manhattan store is destroyed in a fire, he’s hired by millionaire Amber Dexter to privately investigate a series of events and document them, starting with the death of a young woman in Venice, who was found hanging from a bridge. From there, Rector discovers that all is not what it seems, and that Dexter and his associates are playing with the fabric of life.
The game will be a classic point-and-click third person adventure, using a 2D graphic novel style, with two difficulty modes: Casual Adventure and True Adventure. Casual Adventure mode includes hints, a hotspot revealer, and a simplified interface. True Adventure will be more of a challenge, and hopefully will allow players to get killed if they make the wrong choice.
Jensen’s studio, Pinkerton Road, has raised half of its $300k funding goal. Moebius is expected to have a March 2013 release date.
