Square-Enix is bringing its library of Eidos titles to Good Old Games, the DRM-free digital distributor. The first two games to hit the service are the classic Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition and the original Hitman: Codename 47.
GOG.com promises, ”There are a few more heroes from SquareEnix, that deserve a special treatment from GOG.com, and we will be announcing them in coming weeks.”
Two particular IPs stand out as probable titles from Eidos’ library - one wears goggles and fights a demonic computer AI on a pair of derelict spaceships (System Shock 2), while the other is an unrepentant burglar who seems to get caught up in fantastic plots to destroy the world (Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age).
Stay tuned.
