Gamers hankering for some old-school 16-bit Nintendo retro-styled gameplay will be interested to learn that indie developer Kyle Pulver’s Offspring Fling will be landing on Steam this Friday, 30th March.
The game features a Pokemon-esque character straight out of the Super Nintendo oeuvre, in a Super Mario Bros.-styled adventure, whose main gimmick is picking up her own children and flinging them at enemies, much like Mario did with enemies and objects in his adventures.
Offspring Fling’s main charm are from the early 90’s console graphics, sound effects and a 16-bit music score by Alec Holowka, faithfully recreating the feel and action of games from that era. The game features over 100 levels, each of which have their own puzzles to solve. The game also features some modern touches, including ghost replays where players can compete against themselves to beat their old times and online replay sharing.
