The studio has ”certainly looked at options” similar to Mass Effect 3’s Galaxy at War. Shooters are a ”known quantity”, whereas Dragon Age proves more of a head scratcher.
Some actual gameplay footage has surfaced from over the weekend, and while it may be pre-Alpha, the next Dragon Age instalment is looking mightily impressive.
”The Mass Effect multiplayer stuff was really good, so we’ve certainly looked at options like that,” Cameron Lee told OXM. ”But we haven’t decided on anything in terms of multiplayer at this point.”
”Shooters are really easy to make,” he added. ”Well, not exactly ‘easy’ to make as a multiplayer game - but certainly there’s a known quantity to what you want to try and create.” Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer feed into the single player portion of the game, where online users played the role of elite special forces fighting for control of strategic locations.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is all about the founding and expansion of the Inquisition, which was set up to investigate the cause of the Fade rifts now plaguing Thedas. Could a multiplayer component have us filling the boots of Inquisition soldiers? There are numerous factions in conflict in the Dragon Age universe.
