Focus Home Interactive has announced the next Sherlock Holmes adventure game being developed by Frogwares, called Crimes and Punishments.
The new game will be the first by Frogwares that actually puts the player in the role of Holmes, instead of the famous detective being someone the player consults during his investigation. The game will feature eight mysteries to test the player’s deductive mettle. The game also promises to test the player’s moral choices as well as justice.
The game will also be the first in the series to use the Unreal Engine 3. According to the press release, ”environments will be more realistic and finely detailed with dynamic lighting and shadows… (letting) the game benefit from many technologies like a powerful animation engine for smooth movement and animation transitions, real-time shaders and a particle system, and advanced post-processing effects.”
Crimes and Punishments: Sherlock Holmes will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013.
