They took the game to Rezzed and were ”somewhat overwhelmed” by the queues to play it. While Space Hulk is the ”main focus” for most at Full Control, Jagged Alliance Flashback rolls forward.
The studio has been ”writing up story elements” for JAF, now that its Kickstarter period of craziness has ended. They hope to launch the website and forums soon.
”Space Hulk is shaping up fantastic, and it’s fantastic to also see the studio play the game in their spare time simply because it’s great fun and a really cool game!” posted Full Control.
”So we are happy to announce that we will open up pre-order for the game on Steam in just a few weeks from now! More details will be sent out in a “Space Hulk Pre-order Special” newsletter soon.”
”We were somewhat overwhelmed by the constant 3-4-5 deep waiting lines, and in hindsight we should have had more computers to demo the game on,” they said. ”But it also gave us a chance to chat with a lot of you and get feedback.”
The developer is having to adjust to things slowing down on the Jagged Alliance Flashback front now that the Kickstarter campaign has ended successfully. ”After the crazy months of Kickstarter preparations and running the campaign itself, it felt really weird and empty to go into a slower pace without daily communication with the community.”
It’s time to start getting their plans into shape: ”We have been writing up story elements and are going into level design now, as well as ramping up the preproduction team more and more. Also the website and forums are being given love, and hopefully we can soon launch it all.”
”For the story part, we have listened to a lot of the feedback and have had several sessions of crazy brainstorming around a new name for the island (it’s too close to a real island), the setting and main storyline us dumb Danes calling Russians “Soviets” stepping on their toes in the process and so on.”
Full Control will be attending Games Day US, Games Day Germany and Games Day UK in the next two year period, so fans can still get their grubby mitts on Space Hulk and some merch.
