ArenaNet has announced that the Wintersday event will be launching on Guild Wars 2 next week.
”The nights may be growing longer and colder, but Lion’s Arch is merrier than ever before! Wintersday is returning to Tyria, along with everyone’s favorite toymaking inventor – Tixx! Celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next in this six-week winter festival!” proclaimed the developer in its official announcement.
The events that will be celebrated in the subscription-free MMO include corraling mischievous toys in famed toymaker Tixx’s workshop, the “Winter Wonderland” jumping puzzle where players must leap from snowflake to snowflake picking up gifts while avoiding giant snowballs, the musical Bell Choir challenge, the Toypocalypse (exactly what it sounds like), and a good old-fashioned snowball fight in Snowball Mayhem.
The rewards that can be won during Wintersday includes Tixx’s Toybox (with a random toy surprise), the ability to craft Ascended Armor, with the Armorsmith, Leatherworker, and Tailor crafting disciplines getting a new skill cap of 500, and a new Healing skill for every profession.
