According to Désilets, he and Ubisoft executives Yves Guillemot and Yannis Mallat could not reach a satisfactory agreement over Désilets’ control of 1666. The Ubisoft execs thought THQ gave Désilets too much power over the game because the now-defunct company was “desperate”. When no agreement could be reached, Désilets claimed he was fired.
Désilets is seeking the following in his lawsuit:
* Total ownership of 1666.
-
Salary, vacation, and expense payments through May 7, the day of his firing.
-
Severance in the form of one year of Désilets’ salary.
-
$25,000 for relocation and job searching.
-
$5,000 in legal fees.
-
$100,000 for “moral damages caused to (Désilets) reputation.
Ubisoft is naturally denying the allegations. The rights to 1666 would revert to Désilets if the game is cancelled. However, Ubisoft states the game is ”suspended indefinitely.”
