Rockstar: GTA V gameplay "captured with footage from the PS3 version"

To stop speculation monsters running rampant over the Internet, Rockstar has issued a ‘clarifying’ statement that the recent first official gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto V was from the PS3 version.

Some prone to tin foil hats had posited that the footage was from a PC version, or at least a build of the game running from a PC. Rockstar has said before Xbox 360 and PS3 is their only official focus.

The footage aired yesterday and teased that they’ll soon be sharing more with regards to GTA V’s multiplayer, which was briefly glimpsed at the end.

”Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game,” posted Rockstar on their Newswire. GTA V is on track for a September 17th release for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The reason the idea of the gameplay footage being from a PC flared up was probably because Rockstar Leeds is advertising for new staff to help the studio ”bring our latest titles to the PC”.
