Rock Band and Dance Central developer Harmonix has confirmed it fired a “small number” of employees today.
The first evidence of layoffs came when audio project lead Dan Crislip announced in a tweet he had been laid off, stating:
Thanks @Harmonix for the past six years. Yes, I was among those laid off today. It was a wild ride and I hope everyone keeps in touch!

Later, members of the studio’s art department had announced they’d been laid off as well.
A Harmonix rep issued a statement that read, ”We can confirm that a small number of Harmonix employees were let go today. This decision was made due to shifting staffing priorities for Harmonix’s multiple future projects.”
The developer still retains over 150 employees. Its latest project is the Disney-themed Fantasia: Music Evolved coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014.
