CD Projekt RED has announced that the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be using the save game file from The Witcher 2 to affect the game state. According to executive producer John Mamais, the saved game file ”will definitely impact your playthrough in The Witcher 3.”
However, for gamers who didn’t play The Witcher 2, or are buying the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions of the game, the developer is still figuring out how to build the game without a save game to import from.
”We’re not sure how it’s going to work on the consoles yet, but we might try to create some kind of game state even if you haven’t played. Obviously we didn’t make the game for the Playstation 3, so we might try to deliver something for the PS4 that could create some kind of profile for those players,” Mamias pondered.
The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt is due to be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014.
