Kerberos Productions has announced a new turn-based strategy game based on their 4X title Sword of the Stars, called Sword of the Stars: Ground Pounders. The game takes the SotS universe and puts it into a Panzer General-like setting.
Gamers will take control of one of three factions - Human, Tarka, and Hivers - and gives them over 80 units covering land, air and sea, duking it out on alien worlds “including airless moons, lava plains, and meteor blasted wastelands”.
Units can be leveled up across campaigns as well, as players earn combat cards with which they can build decks and adjust them to deal with different scenarios. There are also dozens of single skirmishes, as well as a scenario and unit editor.
