Publisher Daedalic Entertainment is breaking into the turn-based RPG business with Blackguards, and has announced it will now be heading into January 2014 for release, skipping out on 2013 altogether.
They want to ”ensure the highest quality” for Blackguards, which casts us as a ”band of outcasts and criminals” who may or may not save humanity in the course of saving their own hides.
”Of course we want to ensure the highest quality, even if we tread on new ground; and most of all, we want the players to enjoy the finished game,” said Daedalic ‘s Kai Fiebig.
”All the time we’ve gained now will be used to put as much effort as possible into improving the game. We’ll optimize performance, implement new features and also polish the visuals.”
It’s a turn-based RPG with strategic combat that promises to combine Daedalic’s ”high standards of storytelling and unique characters with thrilling action” to provide a journey of ”doubt, treachery and loss.”
Blackguards releases on PC in January 2014.
