The latest slice of zombie cake from Techland is Dying Light and given its name you can well imagine that light itself plays a rather prominent role. Indeed, when it’s dark we become the mercilessly hunted.
A new tech trailer has been released showing off some of the fancy lighting tricks in Dying Light, as they continue to push their in-house Chrome Engine 6. Most illuminating.
Without subjecting either of us to further shameless puns, I’ll add that Dying Light is due in 2014 and is a 4-player co-op survival open-world with day & night cycles.
Techland promise that if you can see it then chances are you can scale it with huge focus shifted onto player movement and our ability to use the city in all manner of ways, with night filled with even greater danger as we are suddenly hunted by things as agile and fast as we are. It releases for PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2014.
