Riot Games is getting tough. Eight players have been temporarily suspended from League of Legends season two, with all rewards also withdrawn. These individuals have been caught in the act of Elo-boosting. In layman’s terms, this means logging into someone else’s account to help improve your own.
”An investigation has determined that seven LCS North American pro players (plus one team coach) have been engaged in Elo-boosting. These violations occurred as early as the middle of Season Two and some have continued until recently,” Riot revealed in a statement.”The League of Legends Terms of Use prohibits players from sharing, transferring, selling or trading user accounts and/or login credentials.”
Some players have been taking part in Elo-boosting to help less skilled individuals go through the ranks. One account was found to have 900 Elo points awarded in this way.
Head on over to the game’s official forums to see the names affected.
