In the game, the player takes on the role of ”a former special-forces solider who has been cybernetically modified by the military to undertake the most dangerous covert missions.” Now having quit that sort of work, the player has gotten an emergency call-up request to save New York, which has only one hour left to live, as spatial warps have appeared, through which zombies and mutants are invading, and are controlled by a mysterious entity known only as Darkness.
