The Big Blue will give us a ”strikingly beautiful” and yet ”mysterious and terrifying” ocean world to explore. They want a ”hyper realistic, living feel” to their underwater world and need $665k.
The Kickstarter campaign has only just begun with over $1,200 already pledged by a handful of backers. The team are already planning some enticing stretch goals like co-op.
If all goes well the team hopes to launch April 22nd, 2014 for Earth Day with early previews given to backers during development. They’re targeting PC, Mac, iOS and Android. When the first version is complete and out the door then Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will get a look in.
A ”VERY early prototype” is available online. The Ecco the Dolphin talent plan on exploration, quests, collection and spawning of lifeforms and action puzzle solving in The Big Blue.
All creatures will be controllable, which include taking control of swarms. We can also populate our own ‘designed seas’ and ”breed and multiply creatures to be used for various purposes” like quest assistance.
