Splash spent a ”long time finding the right partner” for Extraction, and Nexon America is that partner. They’ll operate the F2P shooter in the US, EU and Australasia. It ”will not be pay-to-win”.
”We spent a long time finding the right partner for us on Extraction,” said CEO Paul Wedgwood.
”Nexon America’s vast experience and the fact that they’re a true trailblazer in the F2P PC game arena ultimately made the decision super easy for us. Extraction is a title we love making and playing, and hope that the collaborative nature of the game delivers a dynamic and fun experience for players.”
This partnership deal with Nexon America ”does not change our vision for the game, and Extraction will not be pay-to-win and Splash Damage will retain complete creative control”.
”In short, the game’s the same. Fun fact: Extraction was Dirty Bomb’s original name and the reason we didn’t stick with it for the Closed Alpha was that we weren’t sure if we could secure the worldwide trademark for it. We’re confident we can achieve this with Nexon’s help, so we’ve decided to go with the name we’ve always wanted for the game.”
Extraction is currently in closed alpha with access available to pre-orders.
