Indie developer Vagabond Dog is behind an ”unconventional RPG” by the name of Always Sometimes Monsters, which focuses on an ”out of luck, out of money” protagonist looking to turn things around.
We’ll ”explore themes and issues” of the modern world while making decisions that affect yourself and others. Apparently our beloved is marrying someone else, so it’s RPG time.
This curious indie title will be at PAX Prime with a custom demo for gamers to try out, getting to sample ”a few of the initial sequences” and even ”permanently affect” the character.
”Developing Always Sometimes Monsters has been a continual process of evaluating not only our game mechanics, but also an evolution of how we regard ethics and morality,” said Justin Amirkhani from developer Vagabond Dog.
“Concepts of right and wrong can easily whittle away within the game, so we are very much looking forward to seeing what choices players make during their unique journeys.” We’ll get to work an honest day to get back on our feet, or stretch a few truths to scrap in more bucks. There’s a ”colorful cast” we’ll start and end relationships with.
