The Kickstarter campaign for Ice Pick Lodge’s Pathologic remake has made its target of $250,000 with six days left go. It’s currently sitting pretty on $264,998.
This new first-person, open world version of the studio’s cult 2005 adventure game is set to come out in 2016. Now it’s just a matter of how much additional content will be added through stretch goals.
Pathologic casts you as a plague doctor trying to cure a decaying city of a mysterious disease. You’ve only got several days to complete your objective, so you’ll have to make some hard decisions in order to save as many lives as possible. It looks great. There’s been a distinct lack of ‘weird’ in videogames lately, and Pathologic radiates weird. Love the expressionist art style and the nightmarish setting.
Stretch goals include ‘a small prequel’ and extended versions of the town and the steppes, as well as extra side-quests that flesh out the game’s themes and ideas.
