This is sort of hilarious; Atari’s resurrection of the classic survival horror franchise Alone in the Dark is titled Alone in the Dark: Illumination and features a co-operative multiplayer mode.
So essentially you’re no longer alone, and you’re not in the dark. That’s a really solid understanding of the brand you’ve got there guys.
Atari’s press release announcement claims Illumination “takes the survival horror genre to the next level with new features, including the power of illumination and a cooperative multiplayer mode”.
Okay, so the Illumination thing is probably one of those meaningless words publishers like to stick on the end of a game in lieu of a sequential number. Still funny. The game’s teaser trailer suggests a first-person survival game in the vein of Outlast or Amnesia, but the screenshots below seem to suggest a more action-orientated approach, and to be honest look a little generic.
Hard to tell anything just yet, though. The game’s set for release this Autumn on PC.
