Airtight Games, the team behind recent supernatural detective thriller Murdered: Soul Suspect, has closed down according to the company’s official Twitter page.
Responsible for several games including Dark Void, Quantum Conundrum, Soul Fjord, Pixld and DerpBike, the studio has been in trouble for some time - it was forced to lay off 14 members of staff in April this year.
At the time Airtight’s executive Jim Deal told IGN ”We regret to confirm that we have laid off 14 staff members yesterday afternoon as part of a necessary restructuring. This restructuring is part of the normal ebb and flow of game production. Existing projects are on schedule and Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects.”
Unfortunately it seems like that restructuring merely delayed the inevitable.
Thanks to all of the fans, family, friends and colleagues who supported us and made the last 10 years possible.

Website GeekWire first reported the bad news earlier this week, after they visited Airtight’s offices to find the building shuttered and office equipment being sold off.
There’s been no official statement from Airtight apart from those Twitter posts. It’s always sad news when a hard-working developer is forced to close. Best wishes to the team, hopefully they’ll find something else soon.
