There’s no word on customisable layouts, a hallmark of PC gaming, but there is at least a selection of presets. Respawn has warned gamers Titanfall is ‘no corridor shooter’.
Verticality is the name of the game in Titanfall and so coming to the sci-fi shooter with ‘Call of Duty thinking’ will likely get you a terrible kill/death ratio.
“There is a layout with melee and crouch swapped, as well as a variant that allows for jumping on a bumper. (my personal favorite, as it allows you to use the “look” stick while jumping). More than one controller layout confirmed!” posted Respawn Entertainment developer ‘scriptacus’ on the official Titanfall forum.
The studio has remarked that sniping in Titanfall is a ”pretty different animal than you’ll find in your run of the mill modern military shooter,” with exploitative techniques such as quick scoping and no scoping ”ineffective”. Modding support and map tools are said to be on the agenda post release.
Titanfall releases on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One March 11th.
