Turtle Rock’s multiplayer co-op shooter Evolve has been revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer. It follows a similar theme as Left 4 Dead where four players band together against a common foe.
Except this time there are no infected but a rather imposing alien that evolves overtime becoming stronger and stronger. This alien is in fact a fifth player, so it’s four vs. one.
Four soldiers will be hard pushed to battle this hulking alien that grows in ferocity, and each of the alien hunters will have unique abilities to leverage in the fight.
”Each hunter features its own unique items and abilities, and while the monster may be outnumbered, its size and an assortment of devastating attacks make it a more than formidable foe. Like Turtle Rock’s previous titles, Evolve is being built with variety and replayabilty in mind; the result is a novel mix of cooperative and competitive multiplayer elements that’s unlike anything we’ve played before,” writes Game Informer. It’s powered by Crytek’s CryEngine 3.
2K will publish Evolve, which was bought for $10.8 million at the THQ auction. More details about this new alien co-op shooter from Turtle Rock are due this week from Game Informer. Evolve releases on PC, Xbox One and PS4 this fall.
