Mike Bithell, developer of indie darling Thomas Was Alone, has released several concept images from Volume, his upcoming futuristic version of Robin Hood.
Volume is a stealth game that see players take the role of thief Locksley, navigating a series of futuristic environments while avoiding guards, solving puzzles and grabbing key items.
The concept images were drawn by Bithell’s ”longtime collaborator”, artist Daz Watford.
In an email to Polygon Bithell said, ”Volume is a futuristic retelling of the Robin Hood legend, bringing the motifs, fashion and aesthetics of a medieval world into a futuristic context was Daz’s job on the game, and I love the way it’s turned out. From the armor styling of the AI, to the gauntlet and quiver like battery pack on Locksley to the awesome Celtic patterns on the volume projectors, he’s nailed it, and produced a cool tech environment with a British twang. In my opinion. Wow, this paragraph got very PRy.”
Volume will make its way to PC, PS, PlayStation Vita and Mac later this year.
