As promised SMITE developers Hi-Rez Studios are continuing to add new gods to their game. After last month’s addition of Ullr, god of hunting, comes Kumbhakarna, the Sleeping Giant. There’s a new trailer showing the big guy in action.
Kumbhakarna is a Hindu god, a generally good-natured giant who enjoys the odd punch-up and power-nap. There’s more on his real-world lore in the trailer above. His moves are, unsurprisingly, based on his reputation for laziness. When he’s defeated for example, instead of dying outright he falls asleep. After a while he come back to life with 25% health if he’s not finished off.
He’s also got some status-affliction attacks to mix things up, like a mesmerising yawn, and his ultimate is the self-explanatory ‘Epic Uppercut’, an area-of-effect blast which knocks down other enemies.
The same patch that adds Kumbhakarna also adds a new ‘Scarlet Coven’ skin for Isis, and it’s out now if you fancy some laid-back brawling with the new guy. Check out our SMITE review for more information on the third-person MOBA game. It’s pretty fun.
