Pssh, VR headsets are already so last year. Here’s a video showing the Virtuix Omni in action, a combination treadmill, Oculus Rift and motion controller that’s the closest we’ve come so far to a full-body VR experience.
Alright, so the chap playing Counterstrike looks a little silly, but it does seem like he can at least keep up with the guys using traditional setups.
You can pre-order the Omni for the official website here, though it will set you back a not inconsiderable $499.
Add to that the headset and controller, as well as the space you’ll need, and it’s not something most people will consider just yet. Still, another big step on the path to household VR becoming a common thing.
