Military shooter Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online will be available for PC via Steam Early Access, Ubisoft have revealed.
The online team game was released free-to-play in an open beta in 2012, but Ubisoft are hoping to use Early Access to polish the title ready for release. And grab a slice of that huge Steam audience, obviously.
In a statement released yesterday, Ghost Recon producer Corey Facteau said, ”As the top shooter for gamers who enjoy team gameplay, we have also seen our audience expand to include MOBA fans, who comprise fifty percent of our user base. To ensure a seamless transition to the new platform, we will use Early Access to fine tune the Ghost Recon Online experience before releasing it to the rest of the world.”
Ghost Recon Online is out on Early Access in Canada today, with other regions planned for this Spring.
