The M50 Interceptor is a sleek, expensive racing starship - what better way to announce its Star Citizen debut than with a mock Top Gear-style TV show?
In a video uploaded last week to coincide with the release of Arena Commander V.09, a CGI future-Clarkson (who mimics the presenter’s speech pattern pretty impressively) takes the M50 for a ride.
Though it introduces the terrifying prospect of a future in which Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond still dominate the galactic TV ratings, it’s a pretty fun way to announcr a new ship. You could maybe argue that it’s a bit of a waste of money, but when your game’s racked up around $49 million you can probably find some to spare. The M50 is a racing ship, first and foremost, so it’s the perfect choice for the Murray Cup event, added in Arena Commander V.09.
V.09’s launch was less than smooth last week, but you can actually log in now, so that’s something. RSI has already rolled out Patch 13.0.1, which is intended to fix some of the outstanding issues - though it has had to take private servers down temporarily.
