APB: Reloaded, the free-to-play reincarnation of Realtime Worlds’ cops versus robbers MMO, is getting a new Christmas update, adding various new events and goodies to earn.
The game’s current developer Reloaded Productions is also adding in a rehab programme that will ease previously banned players back into the game – with one catch…
So, those new events; the 12 Deaths of Christmas event is a ‘reverse gun game’, in which you kill your way down the weapon tiers rather than up, the Snowball Wars event is pretty self-explanatory, and every day from December 12 to 24 players will receive a new in-game gift.
Gifts include various festive treats, from Santa Hats and Reindeer Antlers to a new FAR ‘Vanguard’ weapon.
As for the rehab programme, there’s an interesting wrinkle there. If you’re a banned user that wants your ARMAS items moved to a new account, you can do so – but you’ll need to donate 10 hours of community service to a local non-profit charity or hospital in your area. Finally, you’ll also need to submit a letter with why you feel you should be chosen as one of the few to be given another chance. Only ten banned players from each server will be selected.
Hmm. Is it cynical to guess that roughly zero banned players will be returning to APB: Reloaded next year?
