Egosoft has released version 3.0 of the rather… underwhelmingly received X: Rebirth, adding a bunch of new features and improvements.
It’s also released a free DLC pack, The Teladi Outpost, which brings new missions and a whole new star system containing two unique sectors, along with an arsenal of new gear for your ship.
Some examples of new goodies in version 3.0; you can now skip all cutscenes by pressing the Esc key (not a sexy update I know, but a welcome one), you can run on platforms, and crafting, rare loot and lockboxes have all been reworked.
That’s only a very brief sample – the full list of changes in version 3.0 is prettty impressive, and if you hated the messy, clunky Rebirth it might be worth trying it out again.
One thing to remember though, both version 3.0 and the Teladi Outpost DLC now require a 64-bit system to run.
