Several pro League of Legends players have been banned from the game by developer Riot Games, after failing to adhere to the Summoner’s Code, a guideline for acceptable behaviour.
The banned players include members of Little Wraith, a team who recently qualified for the Intel Extreme Masters Regional Invitational tournament, as well as Team Immunity and Nv.
Player Attack report a statement from Riot Games’ Mirko Gozzo, who confirmed the bans.
“I can not go into much detail due to privacy reasons, but basically we regularly perform checks on our player behaviour and on this last check, a number of players - not only pro players - were found acting against our Summoner’s Code, and therefore were temporarily banned.”
A team member from Nv was the hardest hit by the wave of punishments, receiving a six month ban from all forms of online and LAN play.
