A list has been compiled by Joystiq on what’s happening with various titles by publishers and studios. The future is bright for some, not so blinding for others.
Perhaps in a grump, Microsoft has no current plans to alter any of their titles like Fable 3, Halo 2, Gears of War etc. Embarrassingly, the list is rather small anyway.
The apparent date of Games for Windows Live’s last gasp of inconvenience is July 1st, 2014. A full list of the compiled games is available from Joystiq. Highlights include no apparent plans for Capcom’s catalogue to drop GFWL, except for Super Street Fighter IV / Arcade Edition. Codemasters will alter DiRT 3, F1 2010 and F1 2011.
As I said, Microsoft has no plans to shiv their own disaster in the back which means Fable 3, Gears of War, Halo 2, Microsoft Flight, Shadowrun, Tinker and Viva Pinata will work at reduced capacity or experience difficulty.
Namco ‘exploring options’ with Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon - Enhanced Edition. Nordic Games to remove GFWL from Red Faction: Guerrilla. No word from Rockstar Games on Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes From Liberty City. SEGA is yet to comment on their titles.
Warner Bros. has already bleached Batman: Arkham Asylum/City of GFWL for Steamworks, as well as Gotham City Impostors, but no word on Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection.
