Multiplayer has been ”streamlined” for faster access, and there’s an all-new late-war scenario. It should tide fans over until their new strategy The Great War launches.
The studio is already seeing a spike in interest for Making History II: The War of the World thanks to these updates, which proves they were right to do them.
”It may seem unusual to release such a large update and new content this long after a game’s release,” said product manager Chris Parsons, ”But we’ve always treated our game development as a process. For example, our fans can choose to play updates like these while they are still in development.”
”Games like these have a lot of moving parts,” says Parsons, ”The complexity and thoughtfulness required to succeed is what attracts players who enjoy strategy games. Involving our fans throughout development really gives them an investment in the game.” A changelog for the update has been posted on the Making History forums.
Making History II: The War of the World is available through digital store fronts like Steam and GamersGate.
