We’ve seen mods that add a first-person mode to Grand Theft Auto, but if rumours currently circulating are true then we might see Rockstar try their hand at a change of perspective in the upcoming PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Reddit user DrOversight claims to have found a cached blog page from Rockstar’s website that promises first-person modes both in-car and on foot.
The feature list reveals ”a brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more,” as well as ”a brand new first person mode while on foot.” It also claims that PC GTAV comes with a video editor.
The cache page, first published on September 12, has since been deleted. Let’s be honest, if this isn’t a fake it’s probably an accidental post with out of date or incorrect content. Still, until we hear an official clarification from Rockstar we can always hope. Proper first-person GTA would be sort of cool.
Grand Theft Auto V is due out for PC on January 27.
