If information gathered from a recent Steam database update is anything to go by, there maybe be some more DLC on the way for action RPG Dark Souls 2.
Reddit user Jersam15 discovered some interesting lines of code mentioning “testdlc4”, which would make sense considering that the last expansion, Crown of the Ivory King, was called “testdlc3” in the database.
It would seem unlikely that From Software has another whole trilogy on the way so soon, but there have been rumours circulating that the developer has something in store for both Halloween and Christmas this year. The rumours hint that new content will be accessed through several items and props already in the full game, including Nashandra’s painting in Drangleic Castle and a book in Majula’s Mansion.
Much like how players entered the Painted World in Dark Souls. Except now you pay for it.
If there really is seasonal content on the way, From and Bandai Namco will start talking about it soon enough. We’ll keep an eye out for any further developments.
