Think your four-legged best friend can take on apocalyptic journeys? Ashen Rift is single-player, first-person survival game. It’s got Quake and HeXen inspirations for that ”classic shooter” feel.
Pyroclastic Games has brought their project to Kickstarter where they ask for $85,000 CAD with over 40 days to go. A portal has opened on Earth and has ”raged with impunity” - now it’s up to us.
”Ashen Rift is a first-person action adventure game. The gameplay is focused on the relationship between you and your only friend, a canine named Bounder, who together are on a journey to the Rift to save their world. The game will explore what life is like in a dying world,” describes the Kickstarter.
”You will be challenged and aided by the unpredictable elements which surround you, such as your faithful companion Bounder, the hungry, howling beasts known as Feeders, and the ever churning and changing world around you. You must adapt to whatever circumstance befalls you with whatever means you have available to you at the time.”
Poor Earth just can’t catch a break in the future. ”Once a green thriving planet staring down the destructive forces of mankind is now a relatively lifeless planet. Earth is now shrouded in ash, fighting a losing battle against a new, far more destructive force, which has a firm death grip on the planet.”
Ashen Rift focuses on the hero and his canine best friend as the rest of the world is stripped of life, so pack doggy treats and get yourself over to the Kickstarter campaign to learn more.
