Introversion has released Alpha 20 for Prison Architect and with it comes failure. Prisons can now reach fail states such as going bankrupt, too many deaths or losing control to a riot. No more endless chances.
A grading system has also been implemented per prisoner, but it also grades our prisons overall with re-offending rates the primary stat. We could even end up serving time in our own facility.
The previous Alpha update overhauled the game’s financial mechanics to make funds flow better through the prison, and so it allows for failure states to now play a role.
Perhaps the most interesting little addition with Alpha 20 is the fact we can be sentenced to serve time in our own prisons, where we lose complete control over the facility and instead move around as a prisoner with needs to see to. We become subject to the very same restrictions we imposed on others, and yes we can try to escape too.
If fans enjoy having the tables turned then Introversion might expand the new feature.
