Reto-Moto has just released a new update for its large-scale war game Heroes & Generals. Titled ‘Rommel’, it adds several significant changes to the Generals side of the equation, including the introduction of more officer ranks.
Yes, you can now actually be a General. So at last that title makes total sense. Amongst several other additions you’ll also find two new weapons for Paratroopers and a larger campaign map.
Generals control the individual Assault Teams which make up an army’s entire strength. By co-ordinating their attacks while managing both resources and vehicle support, commanders can attempt to organise the battle and ultimately help their faction win the war. With the addition of the new rank, players can now make it all the way up from foot-slogging Private to cigar-chomping General, which is pretty cool.
“I’m personally very excited to finally add generals as characters in Heroes & Generals,” said Jacob Andersen, Game Director at Reto-Moto. ”The Rommel update is an important update, as it wraps up our vision with the character progression tree, so you may start your career as a foot soldier and work your way up to become an officer and finally a General in order to command armies and wage war resources. “
The Rommel update also adds the FG 42 and M1 Carbine weapons for Paratroopers, new victory conditions, a much larger campaign map, improved vehicle handling for tanks, a repair wrench for vehicles and more. You can find the full patch notes here. Anyone tried Heroes & Generals out yet? Looks quite interesting.
